For Immediate Release

Austin, TX – Indie Talk Podcast is proud to announce its latest Featured Artist Spotlight episode, showcasing the debut EP Entropy from East Tennessee indie rock songwriter Gavin Harper.

In this exclusive spotlight, hosts take listeners on a deep dive into Harper’s six-track project, highlighting three standout songs:

  • “Black Cars” – A heartfelt exploration of grief and resilience, inspired by personal loss and the strength of the Appalachian community.

  • “This Feeling” – A bright, uplifting anthem and live favorite, blending indie hooks with echoes of Inhaler and R.E.M.

  • “Breaths” – A vulnerable piano-driven piece written in memory of Harper’s late aunt and uncle, capturing the raw experience of loss.

Released on August 1, 2025, Entropy has already been praised for its emotional honesty and sonic range. The EP fuses indie rock, power pop, and Britpop influences, drawing comparisons to Sam Fender, The Killers, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Wallows. The record takes listeners on a journey through grief, mental health battles, love, and hope—with songs like “Dance with Darkness,” “Chimney Sweeps,” and “Dear Isabella” rounding out the collection.

Raised in the shadow of the Smoky Mountains, Harper has already performed more than 60 shows across the U.S., including appearances at Hard Rock Café, Margaritaville Resorts, Blake Shelton’s Ole Red, and a live set on WDVX’s Blue Plate Special. With Entropy, he marks a powerful debut, establishing himself as one of indie rock’s most promising new voices.

Entropy is about unraveling, but it’s also about surviving that unraveling,” says Harper.
